There are total 58 bank holidays in India in 2022.
India is know for it’s natural beauty, diverse traditions, amazing food. Some of the famous places to visit in India during bank holidays are Agra, Goa, Amritsar, Shimla, Ooty, Alleppey, Jaipur, Ladakh, Mysore and Darjeeling.
As per the RBI rules, NEFT transactions can be performed 24*7. However there are few holidays on which NEFT won’t work. Those holidays are 1 April (Annual closing of banks), Good Friday, Ramzan Eid, Bakra Eid, Independence Day, Muharram, Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti, Vijaya Dashmi and Christmas.
As per the RBI guidelines, RTGS services available 24*7, throughout the year.
Banks in India remain closed on the regional state holidays, national or public holidays and on every second and fourth Saturdays in a month.
Republic Day (26th Jan), Independence Day (15th Aug) and Gandhi Jayanti (2nd Oct) are the national holidays applied in all states and union territories of India.
In addition to the 14 compulsory holidays Central Government Employees Welfare Coordination Committee in the respective state capitals decides the final list of holiday in their respective states.
